SEO for web designers in 2017

Boost Website Speed

Google has said that page loading speed is an SEO position signal. You can boost your site speed by switching to hosting that is more rapid, compressing images, and using a CDN.
Make certain your website doesn’t take more than 4 seconds MunchWeb found that 75% of users wouldn’t re-visit a website that took longer than 4 seconds to load. It is simple to check your site’s loading speed using the excellent GTMetrix.com: Cache plugins and CDNs are nice, but investing in premium hosting is the #1 thing you can do in order to generate your site quicker.
$5/month hosts are decent for the amount of money you’re paying. But they don’t hook you up with speed that is serious. I’ve literally dropped load times from 6 seconds to less than 2 seconds by changing from a $5 shared hosting plan to some top notch host (I use Synthesis Hosting here at Backlinko). From a conversion and Search Engine Optimization standpoint, the ROI of premium hosting can’t be defeat.

Use Responsive Layout

Google started penalizing cellular unfriendly websites in 2015. And they crack down even more in the future. Should you wish to make your site mobile-friendly, Responsive Design is recommended by me.
I’d be surprised in case your site isn’t mobile- friendly yet. But if it'sn’t, perhaps the incentive of more search engine traffic will push one to take the jump.
And if you’re going to generate your site mobile-friendly, I STRONGLY recommend responsive layout. For user experience, it’s ideal in my own opinion. Plus Google prefers it.

Use Outbound Links

This can be a simple, white hat Search Engine Optimization strategy to obtain additional traffic. Outbound links to associated pages helps Google figure out your page’s issue. Additionally, it demonstrates Google that your page is a hub of quality information.
Not linking out might be the #1 on-page Search Engine Optimization error I see people make. I try to use 2-4x outbound links per 1000 words. That’s a great rule of thumb for many websites.
Remember the websites you link out to reflect for you. So make sure whenever potential to link out to authority websites.

Use Internal Links

Internal linking is SO money. Use 2-3 in every post. Check out Wikipedia in the event you need to determine a terrific example of how to internal link in your site.
They add keyword-rich internal links to each entry: Because they’re Wikipedia clearly, they are able to get away with 50 internal links per page. I advocate a simpler (and safer) strategy: link to 2-5 old posts whenever you publish a brand new one.

Sprinkle LSI Key Words

LSI keywords are synonyms that Google uses to determine a page’s relevancy (and possibly quality). Sprinkle them.
I do because I normally write REALLY long content n’t go nuts about LSI key words.
(Long content raises the chances that you’ll naturally use LSI key words). But in case you want to make 100% sure that you’re using LSI key words, search to your key word in Google and scroll down to the “Searches Related to…” place in the bottom of the page: Chuck one or two of these into your post.

Add Modifiers For Your Title

Using modifiers like “2016”, “ ”, “guide” that is best, and “review” will help you rate for long tail variations of your target keyword.

Post Long Content

The Search Engine Optimization adage “span is strength” was supported by our business study which found that longer content has a tendency to rate higher.
Direct for at least 1900 words for every single piece of content which you publish. Generally, I make sure all of my articles have 1000 words of meaty, useful content.
Content that is longer helps you rank better for your target key word and brings in more long tail traffic… a win-win!

Use Social Sharing Buttons

Social signals may not play a direct role in ranking your web site. But social shares create more eyeballs in your content.
And the more eyeballs you get, the more likely someone is to link for you. So don’t be shy about putting social sharing buttons conspicuously on your own site. The truth is, a study by BrightEdge found that societal sharing can be increased by outstanding societal sharing buttons by 700%.
Societal signs aren’t an important part of the Google algorithm. But social shares on sites like Facebook, Twitter and Google may give you an indirect positions boost.
